Former NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons has been named Australia’s Father of the Year.

The Shepherd Centre’s award recognises the role dads play in their family and the wider community.

Mr Fitzsimmons told Deborah Knight he was grateful for the award.
