A months-long ASIO investigation has dismantled a ring of Russian spies in Australia – posing as diplomats.

The Herald reports, they were trying to recruit Australians with classified information.

The highly-active ‘hive’ was revealed in a speech by ASIO’S boss earlier this week – but he did not mention Russia by name.

“The situation is confronting,” Deb said.
