The NSW Rural Fire Service has urged families to revisit their fire plans ahead of scorching temperatures this weekend.

The mercury is set to exceed 40 degrees in some parts of the state on Sunday, greatly increasing the risk of a fire.

Ben Shepherd from NSW Rural Fire Service tells Chris Kenny every family must have a fire plan.

“It’s very, very hot which will make the state more fire prone.

“Today or tonight sit down and discuss with your family what you’re going to do in the event a fire comes.”

Ben says it’s important to have a plan B.

“Don’t make the decision at the last minute. That’s when people make silly decisions.

“Make sure everyone knows the plan.”
