EXCLUSIVE: Shock revelation in Labor’s ‘jobs for the boys’ scandal

2GB’s Chris O’Keefe has revealed that Josh Murray, the newly appointed Secretary of Transport for New South Wales, was never shortlisted for the position before he abruptly assumed the role.

O’Keefe’s revelation comes after NSW Transport Minister Jo Haylen raised eyebrows last month when she confirmed that Murray, a former Labor party member, would assume the role despite concerns about his lack of experience in transport.

“Jo Haylen overlooked two outstanding candidates, one – an outstanding woman – for a mate of hers from the ALP,” O’Keefe said.

LATER:

Jo Haylen called in to Drive to discuss the scandal on-air, with her confirming her preference for the job was Josh Murray.
