A spate of police assaults has continued with five officers attacked in less than 24 hours.

Just after 7am on Tuesday, 24-year-old Constable Jacob Vella was stabbed in the neck with a makeshift spear while executing an arrest warrant at a home in Sadleir.

At about 4.30pm, a 14-year-old girl allegedly punched a senior constable in the face and kicked her at Hornsby Westfield.

Then three more officers were allegedly assaulted by a 37-year-old woman following a house fire in South Wentworthville.

That’s five police officers, men and women, assaulted on one day.

Ray Hadley says “enough is enough” and has called for those in power to introduce mandatory minimum sentences.

“I’ve been supporting the cops for the last 25 years, and I’ll keep supporting the cops, because it’s a job I couldn’t and wouldn’t do.

“Cut the BS, PC and come into the real world. Start thinking about your fellow officers who are getting the crap kicked out of them…

“I’ve had a gutful and I think society should as well.”
