Energy prices are rising across the board and now it’s stopping investment hitting our shores.

Top American business executive, Andrew Liveris, has told business leaders our unreliable energy market is a good reason not to invest in Australia.

Chief Executive of the Business Council of Australia, Jennifer Westacott, tells Ben Fordham Australia’s energy policy has been a debacle.

“This is a big issue for American investors and for Australian companies that we’ve got uncertainty about policy, we’ve got very high prices, we’ve got states doing their own thing.

“People think that people will just come to Australia because they love us.

“Well, if you’re running a big company… you’ve got an obligation to your shareholders to get the best return.

“We’re mates but we’re competitors. We’d better get competitive and energy’s a part of that.”
