Energy boss reveals the key to a cheaper power bill

An energy company chairman says those who shopped around for a better deal on their energy bill actually have higher prices than those who didn’t.

An Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) report released today revealed nearly 800,000 customers have had their bills reduced after a crackdown on big power companies.

But an Alan Jones Facebook poll showed more than 90 per cent of his listener’s found their prices had increased.

“If you’ve been a person that’s shopped around in the market and found yourself on the best deal then I would suggest that your prices are going up slightly.

“If you’ve been an individual that sat back and not participated in the energy market then your prices have come down.”
