Danny Williams left ‘numb’ after his outrageous weekend result
Danny Williams had a pretty good weekend.
Williams trained the first three horses past the post in the Country Championships’ local qualifier at Goulburn on Saturday.
For the winning horse, Kopi Luwak, it completed a remarkable turnaround from a series of serious tendon injuries sustained three years ago.
Williams tells Ray Hadley he was “overpowered” by emotion when Kopi Luwak crossed through in first place.
“I was numb, Ray… It was just all overbearing for me.”
Kopi Luwak and runner-up Pumpkin Pie have qualified for the final at Royal Randwick on April 7.
Williams also explains the “very expensive” background behind Kopi Luwak’s name.
