Councillors push to end ‘opportunistic’ ticketless parking fines following community outrage
Several councillors have called for ticketless parking fines to be scrapped as community backlash grows.
Former North Sydney mayor Jilly Gibson says she initially supported the measure but now sees it as opportunistic.
Inner West mayor Darcy Byrne revealed he refused to accept the measure as he disagreed it was supposed to keep the ticketing officers safe.
