Clive Palmer claims defamation lawsuits against the Prime Minister and a senior government MP have been dropped.

Earlier this year, the controversial businessman announced he was launching a defamation case against Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Jobs Minister Michaelia Cash.

He alleged the pair implied he was “greedy and self-serving” over the collapse of his Queensland Nickel refinery.

The former federal MP tells Ross Greenwood he didn’t see the point of going through with legal action.

“They don’t exist, they’ve been dropped already.

“I’m in business as a businessman to make money really, a defamation action anyway gives you about $100,000, $200,000 of damages, it’s not significant.”

He’s now planning to reopen his Yabulu refinery in Townsville, and is calling on the help of the PM and Senator Cash.
