A child psychologist is warning children must return to school on time amid calls for a delay due to the Omicron wave.

Dominic Perrottet has said February 1 is the non-negotiable date for NSW children to return to school while the union warns there will be disruptions.

Child and Adolescent Psychologist Clare Rowe told Chris Smith a return to school is crucial to mental health.

“I’ve got staff working around the clock trying to help kids … if they don’t go back in February, I’m not sure what the next step is for them.”
