Celebrity chef calls for ‘education’ to alleviate hospitality crisis

A respected restaurant reviewer recently published an article in the Sydney Morning Herald suggesting possible conscription rules could ease the hospitality staffing crisis.

The hospitality industry has struggled with staffing numbers since COVID, and now is finding it tough to hire workers.

Celebrity Chef Celebrity Chef Luke Mangan told Deborah Knight he put out an advert for staff and not one single Aussie applied.

Agreeing with the suggestion from the article Mr Mangan said “the industry has been crying”.

“There are so many different avenues in our hospitality industry.

“We need to educate young kids to get into our industry.”
