A man has died after being crushed by a container at a worksite in Sydney’s east.

Authorities were called to a worksite at Bumborah Point Rd in Port Botany just after 10 am.

The workers who found the man performed CPR before paramedics arrived.

The man is believed to be in his 50s.

Another worker was transferred to hospital to be treated for shock.

This comes after a spate of workplace deaths and injuries across Sydney.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Dominic Wong tells Karl Stefanovic the paramedics did the best they could to try and revive the man.

“As you can imagine it’s a very traumatic scene for both the workers and emergency services on the scene.”
