Three trucks have caught on fire after a major incident on the Mid-North coast near Kempsey this morning.

Alex Strachan, the host of Triple M Breakfast, provided an account of the incident, attributing it to one truck crashing into two parked trucks.

As a result, parts of the Pacific Highway have been shut down after the trucks were engulfed in fire. 

Alternative routes have been established to pass the accident site.

One person has been taken to hospital.
