Fiery car crash closes Sydney Harbour Bridge

Ben Fordham

There are major delays on the Sydney Harbour Bridge after it was closed in both directions due to a fiery car crash.

One of the three vehicles had flipped and caught fire.

Two of the drivers – a man and a woman – were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital and the woman to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A third driver was trapped and freed – he’s in a serious but stable condition.

Nine Radio’s Tom is on the bridge and says the flames have been extinguished.

“There was a really loud bang … something’s exploded.”
