Almost 1000 ‘negative’ results sent before COVID tests processed
More than one thousand people have now been embroiled in a NSW COVID testing bungle.
SydPath yesterday confirmed over 400 people were incorrectly advised they had tested negative to COVID-19.
While investigating the error, it was determined an approximate 995 further people who were tested on December 23 and 24 were prematurely sent an SMS advising they had tested negative.
“In fact, their true result had not yet been determined,” a SydPath statement reads.
“Once again, we are sincerely sorry for this error and acknowledge the significant impact it has had on those involved.”
This group is expected to receive their true test results by Monday night.
