A Queensland mother is pleading to be reunited with her son, after her exemption to get him home was denied. 

Simone hasn’t seen her eight-year-old son for 10 weeks after visiting his father in Sydney during the school holidays.

Her request for him to return and isolate at home has been denied.

She told Ben Fordham “I can’t believe this is happening in Australia”.

“He keeps telling me ‘I want to come home’ … if only I had a spare five, six thousand dollars, but even then would I spend it on hotel quarantine?”
