Ben Fordham has received a heartwarming call from a struggling farming family in Tamworth this afternoon, as they celebrate the raindrops hitting their parched paddocks.

Last month, Ben spoke to farmer Sarah who spoke bravely about the hardships she and her family are experiencing in the bush.

Sarah, along with her husband and children, moved from Gosford to Mulla Creek just months before the full force of the drought hit.

She revealed her landlord was so desperate, he’d resorted to shearing dead sheep just to stay afloat.

Despite the incredibly tough times, Sarah told Ben she and her family wouldn’t be going anywhere.

Well, Sarah’s husband Chris has called Sydney Live this afternoon to give Ben some heartwarming news.

“(Rain’s) coming down, it’s not flogging down but it’s steady rain.

“It’s the second time we’ve seen it since we’ve been here. It’s good news for everybody.”

Chris says he’s hopeful they’ll even see some greenery next week if the rainfall continues.
