Ben Elton reveals why he’s not on social media

British comedian Ben Elton has revealed why he’s not active on Facebook or Twitter.

The writer and actor, known for iconic shows such as Blackadder, says he doesn’t have a thick enough skin to put up with social media trolls.

“I’ve spent my life being slagged off in the old media,” he tells Luke Grant.

“I’ve copped an awful lot of flack because I’ve stood up for some principles people think are too left.

“I find it hurtful, so I’m not on social media because I think it would do that famous thing and live in my head rent-free. I’d be annoyed by it.”
