A former rugby league prodigy will get to run out in one of the biggest sporting events in the world, the NFL Super Bowl.

Jordan Mailata plays left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles and will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Glendale, Arizona in two weeks’ time.

Michael Maguire coached Mailata at the South Sydney Rabbitohs and told Ben Fordham he was just too big to make it in the NRL.

“I remember going to the gym and he would be there every single morning,” McGuire said.
