Footage has emerged showing dozens of customers raiding the isles for tins of baby formula.

Customers are seen lining up to pay for several boxes of baby formula, with the line over twenty people long.

The frenzy occurred at a Woolworths in Melbourne and was filmed by shocked shopper, Ben Barak.

He tells Ben Fordham the supermarket seemed empty at first and he didn’t notice the chaos until after he’d done his own shopping.

“I went to get some herbs and have a quick look around the veggie aisle and then when I got to the checkout I suddenly see a line stretching all the way to the other end of the supermarket.”

Ben says at first he thought the formula was on sale but was told by an attendant that “this happens every week”.
