35,000 people attended the dawn service at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.

Victoria Cross recipient Corporal Mark Donaldson delivered the commemorative address.

He tells Alan Jones ANZAC Day is about paying respect to past and present service men and women.

“For me, ANZAC Day is about reflection, reflection on those who have gone before us, who still do today and who will do in the future.

“It really is about what has been done before me that I haven’t been able to do.”
