Australian model who called flight attendant ‘white trash’ sentenced

An Australian model has been sentenced after she slapped a flight attendant and went on an expletive-filled tirade on-board a US-bound flight.
25-year-old Adau Mornyang had reportedly been drinking excessively when she was recorded screaming at staff on a flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles on January 21.
She yelled obscenities and racial slurs, calling one flight attendant “white trash”.
Several air marshalls had to come out of hiding to help restrain her after she slapped one of the flight attendants who was trying to calm her down.
The South Sudan native, who migrated to Australia at age 10, was convicted of felony interference with a flight crew and misdemeanour assault.
She was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and three years probation.

Steve Price and Rita Panahi were not impressed with the news, both agreeing she got off lightly.
Steve Price: “Can you imagine putting that in reverse, if there was a white model on the plane racially abusing a flight attendant of colour, what would’ve happened?”
Rita Panahi: “Well, the first thing that would happen is that she would never, ever work again in any capacity in the entertainment or modelling industry. I’m sure this model will be back on our catwalks before too long.”
