Aussies staying longer in their jobs

Article image for Aussies staying longer in their jobs

More than 10 million people have stayed in the same job within the last year, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

1.1 million of those people want to work more hours and most are part-time workers.

Out of the number of people unemployed, 87 per cent of them have found it difficult to find jobs because of the number of applicants, a lack of experience or a lack of jobs.

Australian Bureau of Statistics Chief Economist Bruce Hockman discusses the results with Ross Greenwood.
