The Tony and Grammy award-winning rock musical Green Day’s American Idiot makes its Sydney debut this month at the Sydney Opera House.

As the voice and face of Grinspoon, Phil Jamieson fronts one of the most popular Australian bands of the last two decades and now takes his talents to the stage as the rebellious lead role of St. Jimmy.

Jamieson joins Warren Moore in the studio to share more on the upcoming tour.

“It’s a musical for people who like rock and roll, but it’s also got a lot of theatre in it. And because there’s kind of a love story at the centre of it, I think it appeals to everyone.

“This Australian production is one of the 40th productions around the world. To bring it finally to Australia is a real thrill.

“I’m from rock and roll, so to be asked to do this is really special.”
