Independent member Alex Greenwich who is representing the seat of Sydney has opened up to Deborah Knight about being openly gay within the Lower House.

Amid Marti Gras, the MP told Deborah Knight he has experienced times where his sexuality has been used against him.

“I always caught them out, people know I don’t tolerate it anymore,” he said.

“The tolerance and inclusiveness have gotten far better over the decade, and I feel we have come a long way”
