Ray’s interview used in stinging question time attack on Labor
Government politicians are seizing on the opposition leader’s comments suggesting he’s open to the idea of rebuilding two Sydney stadiums.
Luke Foley has spent months opposing the plan but conceded to Ray yesterday that money needs to be invested in ANZ Stadium.
The admission was escalated into question time yesterday, with Premier Gladys Berejiklian quoting Ray’s interview in a stinging attack on Labor.
Mr Foley maintains his schools and hospitals first policy hasn’t changed, but Sports Minister Stuart Ayres tells Ray he’s being deceptive.
“The cat’s out of the bag here. Luke Foley’s always planned to do Parramatta, always planned to rebuild ANZ Stadium into a rectangular stadium, we know that’s what it needs to do.
“But unfortunately he’s been telling the public for three months that he’s not interested in building stadiums.
“It’s time to be honest.”
