India is Australia’s fifth largest export partner but they’re now slapping a 30% tariff on our chickpeas.

Aussie chickpea farmers fear up to 83,000 tones of their crop could be stranded at sea until the debate of the tariff is settled.

Agriculture Minister David Littleproud is set to fly out to Dheli on Saturday to fight the case.

He joins Chris Kenny to discuss what brought on this tariff.

“We’re aiming for the ‘gold-standard’ which is a formal free-trade agreement that would remove these tariffs.”
