2GB Afternoons host Michael McLaren believes Jim Chalmers is being made the “fall guy” by the Labor government for Australia’s current economic problems, questioning how much of the fiscal policy actually comes from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

He warns that Albanese and the Labor government could face “enormous political risk” if the Prime Minister decides to dump Chalmers as Treasurer in the lead-up to the next election.

“The shadow of Dr Jim and a few damaging leaks will loom large over whatever reset they attempt to engineer,” McLaren said.
