The Continuous Call Team panel believes Cody Walker’s raw post-match apology could become a “line in the sand” moment that defines the rest of South Sydney’s season.

The Souths captain is facing a one-match suspension after a kicking incident involving Penrith’s Jack Cogger.

Reviewing Walker’s emotional post-game press conference, the panel noted how heavily the incident weighed on Cody Walker, who immediately accepted blame for letting his team down.

“Just wasn’t good enough,” Walker said in the press conference footage. “As a senior player, I got to, you know, be better in those moments and not not let the um, you know, my aggression get the better of me.”

The Continuous Call Team highlighted how unusual it was to see the normally fiery competitor accept his punishment on the field.

“He copped it. He knew he’d done the wrong thing,” Cooper Johns noted. “This could be a little thing where he goes, ‘Righto, I’m a leader at this club. Like all these young guys look up to me.’ That moment could really define the rest of his season.”
