Economics expert claims sports betting isn’t the problem it’s made out to be
An economics professor has warned banning sports betting could harm community-level sports.
Professor at RMIT, Sinclair Davidson, claims some of the data used to push a ban is misleading and the real problem is not sports betting.
“If you have a look at the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation’s report, if you unpack the numbers the problem gamblers are not in the sports gambling space,” he told Michael McLaren.
