Rex Airlines have been provided with a temporary lifeline after the the federal Transport Minister, Catherine King, confirmed they would help keep regional flights going throughout the voluntary administration period.

A former employee has told Chris O’Keefe he hopes the airline can survive this period.

“I hope for the staff, the general staff of Rex, that they will do well … the staff at Rex will make it,” he said.
