McLaren: QLD Premier’s petrol proposal not a guarantee to win next election
Michael McLaren says the proposal by Queensland Premier Steven Miles to open 12 government-owned petrol stations is an attempt to secure the next election and it won’t work.
He points out while it may not win him the next election, he is the first politician to address petrol in a cost of living crisis.
“He’s clearly seen that motorists are losing under the status quo and has come up with a plan to do something about it,” he said.
