Chris O’Keefe has urged federal Immigration Minister Andrew Giles to intervene after it was revealed the mother at the centre of Sunday’s tragic accident is facing deportation.

“Surely, now is the time for empathy and humanity to prevail over what is bureaucratic rigidity,” he said.
