‘Bend over backwards’: Jacinta Price responds to calls for an Indigenous governor-general

Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price believes the next governor-general should be “chosen regardless of their racial heritage,” amid speculation that the federal government is considering an Indigenous appointment.

“I think the right person for the position should be chosen regardless of their racial heritage. If they’re Australian, they’re Australian,” she told Michael McLaren.
