A mid-air collision involving two light aircraft has occurred at Caboolture Airfield, north of Brisbane.

Early reports suggest the incident involved a glider and a Piper PA, a light aircraft typically utilised for agricultural spraying, both suffering substantial damage.

Emergency services were rapidly on the scene.
