Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has called for sanctions on China as a result of human rights abuses by the Chinese communist party.

Scott Morrison has joined Chris O’Keefe to explain why he believes the Albanese government needs to consider these new sanctions.

It comes at a time where Chinese trade sanctions on Australia continue and the Former Prime Minister is urging for it to end.

“We should be demanding it,” said Scott Morrison.

The former leader has used a speech in Tokyo to say Magnitsky-style sanctions should be considered – similar to those applied to Russian and Iranian officials.
