Has this happened to you? Peter had his MyGov account hacked

Chris O'Keefe

A resident of Drummoyne in Sydney has revealed a hacking incident on their MyGov account and details the actions taken by the Australian Taxation Office to resolve the problem.

The Australian MyGov allows its users to have access to tax information, Medicare, Centrelink and welfare, Veterans Affairs and NDIS.

Peter spoke with Chris O’Keefe about how he found out he was hacked and had his tax returns stolen.

“The ATO suggested to obviously change all [my] passwords, they gave me about half a dozen different agencies to call to make sure that my details haven’t been copied and used again.”
