Blame game intensifies as funding for Wakehurst Parkway pulled

Jim Wilson

Controversy has erupted between state and federal politicians over the loss of $75m Commonwealth funding for the Wakehurst Parkway.

The funding commitment was made by the former Commonwealth Government prior to the last election.

Newly elected Member for Mackellar Dr Sophie Scamps has laid the blame for the loss of funding squarely at the feet of the NSW Government.

Senior NSW Minister Rob Stokes and Pittwater MP Rob Stokes told Jim Wilson he was baffled by the accusations from Dr Scamps.

“I can’t understand how we are to blame for the federal government’s decision, we have met our side of the bargain.

“I’m only interested in looking after the community and getting the $75m funding.”
