Warning for parents after online children’s games linked to terrorist groups

There are fears children are being exposed to extremist messages via popular online games.

Federal police warn any games that allow players to create their own scenario, record it and share it to other gamers are tools for terrorists.

Greg Barton, professor of global Islamic politics at the Alfred Deakin Institute, told Jim Wilson parents need to be aware of the risks.

“They are trying to get the kids into a false friendship, it’s grooming.

“That’s how this type of recruiting works, we saw Isis do a similar thing back in 2014.”
