A man is in custody after three were shot dead at a rural property in the Whitsunday Region.

Police were notified of reports multiple people had been shot at a rural property in Bogie yesterday morning.

A fourth person, a man, is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Nine News reporter Alex Heinke told Ben Fordham the man drove several kilometres, while wounded, to safety.

“They’ve only been living at this property for six months.”
