‘It’s an insult’: Deputy Mayor hits back at parachuted Labor MP

Mark Levy

The Fairfield Deputy Mayor says she is representing ‘insulted’ locals ahead of a clash against MP Kristina Keneally.

Vietnam-born former refugee Dai Le will lock horns against parachuted Labor candidate Kristina Keneally in what the Mayor believes is a “disconnection” to the local community.

Labor has parachuted the Scotland Island local into the key Western Sydney battleground and Ms Le told Ray Hadley, “Why has the Labor party done this?”

“To bring somebody who’s got no connection to this area, who’s not lived and not worked and not understood the issues that actually come to represent us … the Labor party has failed to treat us with respect.

“It’s an insult to the community that there’s nobody good enough to represent us in federal parliament.”
