The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick war servicemen and women and it is returning on the 16th of April.

The Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women.

Collectively there are 500 competitors from 20 nations competing in 10 sports.

CEO of Invictus Australia Michael Hartung told Deborah Knight its fantastic news to have the games return after a hiatus.

“Early next week they jump on a plane and head overseas, the first time for many of us.”

Team Australia has 32 members and they will all be flanked by family and friends.

“It’s not just the competitors that are supported at the event, it’s also their family and friends … because it does recognise that it’s the veterans and family who serve.”

Australians can get behind Team Australia and support Invictus Australia via their inaugural ZERO600 campaign which calls on Aussies to be up and outside by 6 am for 10 military-style mornings in May.
