NSW Transport Minister David Elliott has warned that there will be significant problems over the next 48 hours for Sydney Transport due to wild weather.

Heavy torrential rain is expected to hit Sydney city tomorrow and the Minister told Jim Wilson, “we are preparing for what I think will potentially be 48 hours of significant challenge”.

“Transport has raised a dedicated team at the rail operations centre who will be monitoring the severe weather.”

Mr Elliot announced that the Manly Ferry Services will be available every 40 minutes instead of the usual 20 minutes due to choppy water.

The Parramatta River Service will also terminate for the day tomorrow but there will be re-route buses in place.

“We have contingency plans in place.

“Everything that can be done will be done.”
