Aussie actor David Wenham has expressed his eagerness to see film festivals back after the relaxation of COVID restrictions.

He will be the ambassador at the Alliance Française French Film Festival and told Deborah Knight, “the connection is to acknowledge … the fact it is a global storytelling business”.

There are 42 films at the festival which runs from March 1 – April 26.

Mr Wenham said: “We need them now more than ever”.

“To jump in, to escape and to investigate what the world is really like at the moment.”
