‘I’d rather be curled up in bed’: Brave mother of dead 18yo fighting for justice
The Cassaniti family are campaigning for justice after 18-year-old Christopher died on a Sydney building site last month.
Christopher Cassaniti was working at a Macquarie Park construction site when he lost his life after 17 metres of scaffolding fell on top of him.
Now his family are campaigning for harsher punishments for employers when their employees die in industrial incidents.
Christopher’s mother Patrizia Cassaniti says she’ll continue fighting for justice for both her son and other victims of workplace negligence.
“At the moment it’s very hard and I keep saying I’d rather be curled up in bed and not think about it, but I must do this for Christopher and everyone else that has died on job sites.
“Christopher’s Law shall give all workers the assurance that they should have the right, without being persecuted, to remove themselves from an unsafe worksite or situation.”
