Exactly 50 years ago, Skippy the kangaroo bounced onto Aussie TV screens.

The adventures of Sonny Hammond and his bush kangaroo Skippy entertained families across the country from 1968 – 1970.

But hunky helicopter pilot, Jerry King, played by Tony Bonner was a favourite among the ladies.

He joins Chris Smith to commemorate the anniversary of the iconic television series.

“It really came from the very first feature film I was ever in, They’re a Weird Mob.

“The same producers then became the producers and core of Fauna Productions who then created Skippy.”
