2GB listener witnesses dramatic police chase that ended with guns drawn

A police chase has ended with three people trapped in a multi-vehicle crash on the Great Western Highway.
Truck driver Paul was at the scene and tells Ray Hadley he saw police pursuing the van citybound at Eastern Creek.
Police say the pursuit ensued after the 24-year-old male driver failed to stop when they were made aware the van had stolen plates.
“I was waiting to turn back onto the M7, heading back towards Pennant Hills, and a white van came flying through the set of lights… went under the highway and at the next set of lights t-boned the car there.
“The police jumped out with their guns pulled and the two blokes tried to run but the police got them.”

The Great Western Highway is closed eastbound between Rooty Hill Road South and the M7.
Paramedics were attending to three people trapped in the two-car crash.
They have since been freed and are reportedly in a stable condition.
The driver is in hospital, under police guard, with a dislocated collar bone.
His 24-year-old female passenger is being treated for facial injuries, and a dislocated collar bone and hip.
The driver has been charged with three counts of police pursuit, dangerous driving and driving whilst never having held a license.
