You think the energy crisis is bad NOW? Winter will be worse

The Shadow Treasurer has called out the Albanese government for breaking their promise to reduce prices on power.

This comes following the Origin Energy boss’ prediction that prices will increase by more than 20 per cent in July.

The Australian Energy Regulator will announce its changes next week.

People will face another increase on top of the 18 per cent price rise from July last year.

Angus Taylor told Deborah Knight the Albanese government promised on “97 occasions” to reduce power prices by $275 and is now delivering the opposite.

“People were given these very clear promises on 97 occasions that they were getting a reduction, I never believed it,” Mr Taylor said.
