Teal MP Monique Ryan has caused public outrage after it was revealed she flew business class 27 times on taxpayer dollars.

Her flights amounted to $28,000, averaging over $1,000 per flight between Canberra and Melbourne.

Joe Hildebrand heavily criticised the move and pointed out that business-class seats contribute significantly higher emissions.

“Surely she could have driven her electric car to Canberra … hooked it up to a wind farm at Lake George on the way”, he said.

“And this is an MP who unseated Josh Frydenberg in a campaign based on climate change and integrity”.
